Rules for using the KH6JPL Repeater

Billy G. KH6JPL supports the amateur radio community by maintaining a two meter amateur radio repeater located 1900 feet high above Makakilo, Oahu. It operates on frequency 147.120 mhz (FM). It is equipped with an autopatch system that allows users to make non-business telephone calls. In other words you cannot use the repeater to call your place of business and ask for your messages.

By FCC rules any amateur repeater must be monitored during its hours of operation to insure that no amateur radio rules are broken. Those who monitor amateur radio repeaters are called "Control Operators". Here are some rules:

Note: Autopatch is Disabled

  1. The repeater cannot be used for business communications.
  2. The repeater is "open" meaning any qualified ham may use it.
  3. The Autopatch is also for personal communications only.
  4. When in communications move off to a simplex frequency if feasible.
  5. Do not monopolize the repeater (no make house..)
  6. Wait for the courtesy "beep" between change overs when in a call.
